In the exhibition «Taro Izumi. ex» in 2020, a series of multimedia installations was shown: Tickled in a dream... maybe? (2017). It is based on photographs of athletes performing acrobatic movements. Izumi designs devices that can be used to simulate these movements. In this way, the artist attempts to capture the intangible: Movement, time and gravity. The installation of furniture pieces and prostheses, pedestals and sculpture are conceptually reminiscent of the interactive and partly walk-in works of Jean Tinguely.
