Drummer Jochen Rueckert brings dynamic modern jazz to the museum. The native German and veteran New Yorker has assembled his musical dream team, with whom he has toured in different locations. His longtime companions from the US, the lyrical saxophonist Seamus Blake and the brilliant bassist Doug Weiss, join Rueckert's equally longtime European bandmates, the supple trombonist Nils Wogram and the versatile Joris Roelofs on the bass clarinet. Rueckert awes listeners with his flair for complex yet melodic songs. He not only composed and arranged the multifaceted repertoire himself, but, as he writes, he even “personally printed it out and glued it together.”
